Cable Gland Adaptors

Cable gland adaptors allow cable-entry devices to be connected to equipment. Cable glands secure a cable to a piece of equipment. Electric apparatus can be fitted with access points with various threads, so an adaptor is needed to make the equipment and the cable gland compatible. Cable gland adaptors are simple, screw-in devices made from silicon, rubber, nickel, brass or other metals.What are cable gland adaptors used for?Cable gland adaptors are used in all types electrical environments and machinery, including instrumentation, data and telecommunication cables. Cable gland adaptors connect with the glands to assist them in creating a seal that can resist dripping water or high water pressure. They can also be used to prevent entry of flammable gas into equipment enclosures in hazardous areas. Types of cable gland adaptorsCable gland adaptors can either function as reducers or enlargers to connect cable glands to machinery.Reducers are used when the cable gland has a smaller connection thread than the thread hole on the piece of equipment. Enlargers are used when the cable gland has a larger connection thread than the thread hole on the device.
