To help with selecting the product you need, some important considerations when buying transit and equipment cases online include:Flight case material: The best flight case will depend on what you’re transporting, and how. All transit cases protect materials during movement, but there’s a reason they don’t tend to be made from cast iron! Rugged yet lightweight construction is key – the most popular equipment transit products are often designed in sturdy plastics (polypropylene/PP, HDPE, Nylon or ABS), solid aluminium, or a combination of both.Inserts and padding: Padding for flight cases is generally made from high-density foam – harder polyurethane (PU) for heavy objects, or softer polyethylene (PE) for delicate/irregularly shaped goods. Like good flight cases, these foams are highly durable and shock-absorbing, without adding excess weight. Some brands and models of case include foam inserts, and we offer an advanced selection of aftermarket padding to protect important materials for the duration of a trip. Foam shapes and configurations to suit all manner of equipment and transit conditions include:Convoluted (‘egg crate’) foam – highly versatile; often used as lid foam to secure loose itemsPick & pluck foam – pre-cut removable cubes, for creating custom fitsSolid foam – appropriate for all packaging applications, and easy to cut to shape with a safety knifeTransit case accessories and spares: These might include reinforced flight case corners; various inserts, dividers and organiser trays; padlocks; strengthening framesets; pick boxes; tool panels; wheelsets and more.
